    • Mexico’s Ministry of Health reported that total confirmed COVID-19 cases reached 68,620, while the death toll rose to 7,394.

     

    • Mexico’s trade balance posted a deficit of US$3.1 billion in April. According to the breakdown, exports slumped by 40.9% YOY, while imports did so by 30.5% YOY.

     

    • Mexico’s current account balance for 1Q20 to be released at 10:00 ET.

     

    • The governor of Puebla issued a decree whereby he declares that the state is not ready to allow the automotive and construction industries to resume operations.

     

    • According to a survey conducted by Buendía & Laredo via cell phones, 58% of respondents approve of President López Obrador, while 27% disapprove of him. The survey also showed that 48% consider the economic situation is worse than six months ago.
